A 38-year-old man has been arrested in Paphos after a 24-year-old told police that he encouraged him to retaliate against family members of the two wanted men suspected of involvement in the April 10 murder of a 20-year-old on Chlorakas beach.
The 24-year-old complainant told the Paphos Crime Investigation Department yesterday that the 38-year-old is a friend of the April 10 victim.
The 38-year-old denied any wrongdoing during questioning.Â
Nine people have been referred direct to trial on June 3 for the Chlorakas murder, all of whom will remain in custody in the interim.
Two more people are wanted in relation to the case.
Police believe that the 20-year-old victim was assaulted on April 10 on Vrexi Beach in Chlorakas as a punishment for ‘matters of honour’.
