LOT 50

YIANNIKOURIS KONSTANTINOS, Oil on canvas 150 X 120 cm.

Konstantinos Giannikouris was born in 1939 in Paphos and graduated from the High School of that city in 1957. In the same year, he left for France, where he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. In his painting, we observe abstract tendencies which are imposed more with a poetic breath and the lyrical content of their colour. In his works, we see rich aesthetic colours and free combinations, a dreamlike atmosphere and the spirit of the whole that fascinates the viewer. Giannikouris through his work, can give a fascinating composition that holds elements of Miro’s art and components of Paul Klee’s art as well, that leads the artist to come to a personal artistic view. Giannikouris is a multidisciplinary artist who worked with mosaics, tapestries and fresco. He also created monumental pieces in both France and Cyprus.

The artwork above is estimated at €10.000 – €12.000 and starts at the very appealing starting price for this specific auction at €7000.

LOT 91

ORLINSKI RICHARD, Wild Kong tag, Resin sculpture, 62 Χ 50 Χ 25 cm.

Richard Orlinski was born in 1966 in Paris and studied at the National School of Fine Art in Neuilly-sur-Seine, where he decided he wanted to become a sculptor.

He started his artistic journey in the 2000s. In his art practice, the works are designed around the concept of “Born Wild©”, in which the artist seeks to transform negative impulses into positive emotions. Inspired by conventions of the Pop art movement and New Realism, he works largely with industrial materials such as resin, and aluminium as well as marble, stone and bronze. His favourite subjects include monumental and decorative animals, often drawing comparisons to Jeff Koons and Robert Indiana. Since 2010 he has been ranked among the top 10 best–selling French artists in the world by Art Price. His well-known crocodile, gorillas and panthers as well as his other works seek to reflect the more instinctive and impulsive parts of human nature and refine those impulses through the quest for perfection.

His work has been exhibited in many institutions and art fairs around the world, including the Art Elysees Art Fair, Art Paris Art Fair, Artiferia in Bologna, INCEPTION Gallery and Opera Gallery, as well as many more.
