The Fire Service, following inspections in various areas at the request of local authorities and the Police, urges the public and all relevant Services to seriously consider its recommendations for the removal of piles of wood and useless materials that have accumulated in various areas across Cyprus under the pretext of burning for the “tradition” of bonfires.
The risk due to the strong winds prevailing throughout Cyprus is particularly high.
