Relevant News

Damage to an apartment building under construction in the Omonia area of Limassol seems to have been caused by employees, with unpaid wages as a motive.

Judicial arrest warrants have been secured against four individuals in connection with the case.

According to the Police, around 8:00 p.m. last night, three employees of a construction company who reside within the fenced area of the construction site of the apartment building in the Omonia area of Limassol, noticed loud noises coming from the construction site.

Upon running towards the apartment building, they saw two individuals that they knew, descending the stairs towards the ground floor.

The employees managed to detain one of them while the other fled.

They then proceeded to the company’s offices, where they informed the owner who arrived shortly after.

At this time, a vehicle arrived carrying four other people, who attacked those present and subsequently fled with all five individuals in the vehicle.

Subsequently, the Police were informed and arrived at the scene, which was cordoned off and placed under guard.

It was discovered that damage was caused to an apartment on the first floor of the building, including to the windows of the balcony door, balcony glass, and various furniture and sanitary items were borken in the apartment, of unknown value at this time.

It should be noted that an ambulance was called to the scene, which transported one of the company’s employees to the Emergency Department of Limassol General Hospital, where it was found that he had suffered serious injuries to the face and lips.

After receiving medical treatment, he was discharged with instructions.

Additionally, the other two employees of the company sustained visible injuries but did not wish to be examined by a doctor.

The scene was guarded, and examinations continue this morning.

Based on testimonies obtained, arrest warrants were issued against four individuals who are wanted.
