A toddler was spotted wandering alone in Emba central square on Tuesday night and taken into the care of social services until the parents were found, the Cyprus News Agency reports.
It said members of the public called police when they saw the little boy, aged 23 months, running in the square on his own.
Police took him to the police station and he was then handed over to the social services.
About two hours later police were able to track down the parents — both foreign nationals — who live near to where the child was found.
The toddler was handed back to the parents who were cautioned by social workers, the Cyprus News Agency added.
