The decision of the Nicosia District Court, according to which the two asphalt factories in Tseri and Geri will continue their operation normally disappointed the residents of Dali.
Following this development the Legal Service will proceed with an appeal against the Court’s decisions.
It is reminded that the Legal Service had submitted a decree application for the immediate suspension of the operation of the two highly-toxic asphalt production plants. The plants submitted an appeal, then there was a hearing of the case and today the Court’s decision was announced.
Commenting on the decision, George Chrysochos, head of Cyfield, one of the two companies, said that “from the very beginning we believed that we operating according to the law. We continue our operation until we relocate, something that we hope will take place soon.”
It is noted that after today’s decision the residents in the area are getting ready for new mobilizations and protests.
