The lawyers of the two monks from the Monastery of Saint Habakkuk are requesting the cancellation of the procedure concerning the scandals at the monastery from the investigative committee handling the case.
Specifically, as they state, “We demand the annulment of the procedure carried out so far, namely the procedure before His Beatitude the Bishop of Tamasos and Oreinis, Mr. Isaiah, the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus, the six-member Synodal Court of the Investigative Committee, and also exercising the right of our clients stemming from the 14th rule of the local synod of Sardikis, for His Beatitude the Archbishop of Cyprus, Mr. Georgios, to be involved from the beginning and from ground zero, but now in accordance with the procedures provided for in the Constitutional Charter of the Church of Cyprus.”
