Conducting masterclass and competition of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra

The CYPROPHONIA 4 concert is the culmination of the International Conducting Masterclass and Competition of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. Ten young rising conductors will conduct works by Mozart, Beethoven and Mahler on which they had the opportunity to work for five days with the internationally established conductor and conducting pedagogue Michalis Economou and the CySO.

Michalis Economou is the founder and director of the only national conducting masterclass in Greece as well as of four annual international conducting masterclasses (Hungary-Malta-Romania-Athens).

At the end of the concert, the winner of the competition will be announced, who will be invited to conduct a concert with the CySO during one of the forthcoming seasons.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Don Giovanni Overture
Symphony no. 41 in C major, K. 551
Ludwig van Beethoven: Coriolan Overture, op. 62
Gustav Mahler: Adagietto from Symphony no. 5 in C sharp minor
Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony no. 7 in A major, op. 92

The concert is conducted by the ten young conductors who actively participated in the masterclass.
