The plan for overdue debts is to be discussed at the next plenary session

Relevant News

The services of the Parliament have proceeded to the consolidation of the law proposals of the EDEK and the DIPA parties, according to which debtors will have a new opportunity to join the plan for the settlement of overdue debts in installments, which was first implemented in 2017.

According to the text of the revised draft law, the Tax Inspector will be able to accept and examine applications for membership in the plan. Before this, the taxpayer will have to have submitted all tax returns due by the date of the application for the scheme as well as the VAT.

At the same time, a provision was included whereby the new arrangement will apply until 31 December 2027, so that there is a limitation on the utilization of the scheme.

The revised bill will be discussed at the meeting of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, which will meet on May 13. In fact, at the meeting, the parties will convey their final positions so that the bill can be taken to the plenary session of the Parliament on May 16.

The Tax Department agrees with the proposed law but believes that there will be no mass requests but only individual ones for the inclusion of overdue tax debts in the plans.
