A fire that broke out in dry grass and wild vegetation caused problems to the infrastructure of the Electrical Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and irrigation hoses.
According to the spokesperson for the Fire Service, the fire started at 12:59, burning an area of one square kilometre of dry grass, wild vegetation, eucalyptus trees, and other trees between the communities of Akaki and Deneia in the Nicosia District.
A number of poles of EAC and irrigation hoses were affected by the fire.
The Fire Service responded with a total of three fire engines from Nicosia stations, one vehicle from the Forestry Department, and two excavators.
The fire was brought under control at 17:00.
The causes are being investigated in cooperation with the Police.
