Approximately 60 inmates in Cyprus will receive early release ahead of the Easter holiday.
The decision follows a recommendation from the Attorney General and subsequent approval by the President of the Republic.
The Prison Directorate compiled a list of prisoners scheduled for release within two months.
Once cleared, the list was submitted for presidential pardons. Both Cypriot nationals and foreign nationals are among those released today.
The pardons exclude those convicted of serious offences such as drug trafficking, homicide, or sexual offences. Individuals receiving pardons were serving short prison sentences.
