The Nicosia Criminal Court has sentenced a track and field coach to eight years in prison for sexual abuse and indecent assault against his former athletes when they were minors.
The accused was found guilty on March 15 after a hearing lasting several months. The Criminal Court imposed consecutive sentences on the accused for each of the four cases, totalling eight years in prison.
The case involved four complaints from former athletes against the said coach when they were training in Larnaca several years ago.
The coach had denied all the charges, leading to a lengthy hearing.
