Cental Bank warns of unlicensed ‘bank’

Relevant News

The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) warns of ‘bank’ operating without a license.

Specificly, the CBC informs the public, businesses, and, in particular, depositors that the entity named “Neo Business Bank,” referred to at the following website: https://www.neobusinessbank.com/, does not hold a license to operate as a credit institution by the CBC in accordance with Article 4 of the Credit Institutions (Business Conduct) Laws of 1997 to 2023, or as an electronic money institution under Article 5(2) of the Electronic Money Institutions Laws of 2012 and 2018.

The CBC urges the public, businesses, and depositors to refer to its website and specifically to the Registry of Credit Institutions operating in Cyprus before engaging with credit institutions to ensure the legality of credit institutions operating in the Republic of Cyprus.

Furthermore, they should consult the Registers of Electronic Money Institutions licensed by the CBC and of Electronic Money Institutions from member states that have notified their intention to provide services in the Republic of Cyprus before engaging with such institutions.
