Members of the Police (Traffic Department Headquarters), while on motorised patrol yesterday afternoon, stopped a car for inspection on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, driven by a 26-year-old.
In a search conducted in the vehicle’s luggage compartment, two car engines were found for which the 26-year-old was unable to provide satisfactory explanations regarding their origin, resulting in his arrest for an on-the-spot offence.
Further examinations that followed revealed that the two engines had been stolen from an open area located in a village in the Nicosia province.
Today, the 26-year-old is expected to be brought before the Nicosia District Court for the immediate registration of the case.
The investigations continue by the Perachorio Police Station.
