A 24 year old man is under arrest for a series of serious traffic offences including drunk driving, speeding, failing to stop at a stop sign and driving against the flow of traffic, the Cyprus News Agency reports.
Police said that a little after 9.30 pm on Tuesday night, Famagusta district traffic police arrested the 24 year old — an EU citizen permanent resident of the area — for reckless driving in a residential area.
The young man tested positive for alcohol — 181 mg% which is 20 times the legal limit of 9mg%, failing to comply with a signal from a uniformed police officer, speeding, failing to stop at a stop sign and driving against the flow of traffic,
He remains in police custody and will appear before Famagusta district court today to be charged.
