Dora Bakoyannis’ action is incomprehensible. As a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, she submitted a proposal for Kosovo to become a member of the Council of Europe.
The Cypriot delegation, with Christiana Erotokritou and Giorgos Loukaides, voted against it, but this was not enough to prevent the proposal from being approved by a majority.
However, for Kosovo to become a member of the Council of Europe, it also needs approval from the Council of Ministers.
What does the Greek government intend to do in this case? Will it again give a positive vote, leaving Cyprus exposed? Will it vote against, exposing the MPs of New Democracy and Dora Bakoyannis as the proposer? Or will it request a deferral to buy time?
