The District Judge of Larnaca and the three Supreme Court judges who sent Kenan Ayaz to a sham trial should travel to Hamburg and attend one of the hearings.
Travel, we’ll pay for it and cover the expenses, perhaps then they will understand the torment they subjected a man against whom there is not the slightest evidence of guilt.
Travel, find yourselves in that century-old building in the centre of St. Pauli, listen closely to the judge and feel her intentions, maybe then they will realise that the trial unfolds inside and justice outside, just like their own decisions.
Travel also those who supported or remained silent about Kenan’s extradition, to understand that so-called legality does not answer all injustices and that not everyone is equal before the law.
The entire executive authority should travel as well, perhaps then they will digest that a political refugee, supposedly protected by the Republic of Cyprus, has been subjected to a torturous trial for over a year with hidden evidence and facts, with ambiguities and shadows, simply to link him to “terrorism”, meaning the Kurdish national liberation movement.
What has this man done to them, and he has spent almost a year in the miserable prisons of Hamburg? What did he do to Cypriot judges? What did he do to the Germans?
Is it a crime to be Kurdish?
