The asphalt was stained with blood on Easter Day after a terrible road accident that occurred late in the afternoon on the road leading to Kalo Chorio in the Limassol district. The victim of the new fatality was 30-year-old Eftyhios Haritou.
In his statements at the scene, Limassol Traffic Police officer Marios Charalambous said that the accident occurred around 19:40 on the road leading to Kalo Chorio Limassol when under the circumstances under investigation, the motorcycle of 30-year-old Haritou heading to Limassol, collided head-on with a vehicle heading to the community.
The violent collision caused the motorcycle driver to overturn. He was then taken by ambulance to Limassol Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver was wearing a helmet. There were two women in the vehicle who were taken to a private clinic but they were not seriously injured.
It should be noted that behind the vehicle that collided with the motorcycle, a second car followed and collided with the first vehicle, however, it does not appear to have made contact with the motorcycle.
Limassol Traffic Police are investigating the circumstances under which the accident occurred.
