Prices for local fruit and vegetables have risen steadily in recent weeks, Phileleftheros reported.
President of the Cyprus Association of Green Grocers, Polykarpos Kattasis, told the newspaper that this year’s Easter basket could be more expensive than last year’s which was the most expensive of the decade.
“The current prices are totally unjustifiable, as demand is not big yet, Easter is more than two weeks away and weather conditions are very good,” he said.
