Dali locals will stage a strong protest on Friday morning against the delays in the removal of two life-endangering asphalt plants in the area.
The locals are concerned over air pollution and harmful effects on schoolchildren in the area.
The car procession will kick off from Dali C elementary school up to where the two industrial units are located.
Last year, cabinet decided the plants should be relocated following multiple letters to state officials and numerous protests from locals.
However, nothing has been done over the past months because of disputes over the plants’ potential new location and additional studies by the Agriculture Ministry, to which the delay has been attributed.
The plants have been causing problems in Dali since 2013, emitting pollutants that cannot be measured by the labour inspection department.
