The Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol sentenced a 51-year-old officer of the New Limassol Port to 2.5 years in prison.
The man was responsible of collecting the public health inspection charges on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus. When receiving the money he would deposit a smaller amount at the bank and would get the rest.
The felonies took place between 2014 and 2018 and in total he stole 94,975 euros.
The Court took into consideration the fact that the man made some effort to restore the damage he had caused.
