Police in Cyprus fined 168 individuals over the past 24 hours after a total of 9,950 inspections for violation of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
This is what the Cyprus News Agency reported on Thursday, adding that 2,303 checks were carried out in Nicosia with 52 individuals getting fines.
In Limassol, out of 1,726 checks 50 people were reported, while in Larnaca 33 individuals got fines after 1,371 inspections.
In Paphos, police carried out 633 checks and fined 9 citizens, in Famagusta a total of 1,448 checks led to 15 citizens getting fines and in Morphou one individual was booked after 840 inspections.
Port and Marine police also carried inspections, 90 in total, with no fines needed to be issued.
