A 68 year old man was arrested on Sunday night for speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The man, who is an EU national and a permanent resident of the free Famagusta area, was caught speeding at around 11 pm in Dherynia.
The driver was doing 95 km in a 50 km limit zone. He also underwent an alcotest with a 31 mg% readimg. The legal limit is 22mg%.
He was arrested, charged in writing and released to appear in court on a later date.
