Having been described as an “excellent pianist as well as a wise and thoughtful musician” (Gramophone), Nikita Mndoyants is the First Prize winner of the 2016 Cleveland International Piano Competition, the First Prize winner of the 2007 Paderewski International Piano Competition, and as a composer, the First Prize winner of the 2014 Myaskovsky International Competition for Composers, and the 2016 Prokofiev International Competition for Composers.
Mndoyants regularly appears in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, Salle Cortot and Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Rudolfinum in Prague, and performs with important orchestras such as the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic, Baden-Baden Philharmonic, under the baton of renowned conductors, including Charles Dutoit, Leonard Slatkin, Vassily Sinaisky, Hans Graf, Eri Klas, to name but a few.
The Pharos Arts Foundation welcomes the return visit of this brilliant pianist – one of the most sought-after of his generation around the world today, for another yet memorable piano recital on Friday 1 March 2024, at The Shoe Factory, Nicosia / 8:30 pm.

Nikita Mndoyants has participated in major international festivals and concert series, including the Klavier-Ruhr Festival (Germany), Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdroj (Poland), Mariinsky International Piano Festival (St. Petersburg), International Keyboard Institute and Festival (New York), Brevard Music Festival (USA), International Piano Series in Fribourg (Switzerland), Gilmore Keyboard Festival (USA), Festival InClassica (UAE). Since 2012, he has also been artist in residence at Festival International de Musique de Wissembourg (France) where, apart from performing in recitals and orchestral and chamber concerts, he oversees the performance of his own compositions.
Having given his first chamber concert in 2004, at the age of fifteen, with the legendary Borodin Quartet, Mndoyants has continued to cultivate his passion for chamber music, and he has collaborated with such renowned ensembles as the Brentano, Eben, Zemlinsky, and Szymanowsky Quartets. Among his chamber music partners are pianists Alexander Ghindin and Vyacheslav Gryaznov, violinists Andrej Bielow and Valeriy Sokolov, cellists Lev Sivkov and Evgeny Rumyantsev and clarinetist Patrick Messina.
Nikita Mndoyants is well established as a composer. His compositions are published by Compozitor, Muzyka, and Jurgenson publishing houses, and they have been performed by Alexander Vinnitsky, Alexander Rudin, Daniel Hope, Nicolas Stavy, the Szymanowski and Zemlinsky Quartets, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, amongst others.
Mndoyants recorded his first CD (of a live performance in Helsinki) at the age of ten. His extended discography includes albums on the Classical Records, Melodiya and Praga Digitals labels, and he has released a solo recording on the Steinway & Sons label featuring works by Beethoven, Prokofiev, and Schumann. His latest solo album with works by Prokofiev was released recently by the Aparté label.
Nikita Mndoyants received undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the Central Music School in Moscow, where he studied piano with Tamara Koloss and the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, where he studied composition with Professor Alexander Tchaikovsky and piano with Professor Nikolay Petrov and Professor Alexander Mndoyants.
Nikita Mndoyants has been based in France since 2018.
