It will be two days to remember for Cyprus as its top gymnast Marios Georgiou returns to Cyprus tomorrow with a haul of no less than five medals at the European championships, taking gold in the All-Round, silver in the parallel bars, and two bronze in the pommel horse and the horizontal bar.
Following his gold in the all around gold and the pommel horse bronze on Friday, Georgiou took another two medals yesterday in the space of just an hour.
It’s a major boost for the Cypriot gymnast ahead of the Paris Olympics. He has taken a total of six medals in the European Championship, including a bronze in 2019 in the all-round and gold in 2022 in the horizontal bar.
Today he was taking part in the All-Round Team Event, with Cyprus chasing yet another medal.
