Kate fell ill. Kate is hospitalized in a clinic. How serious is the surgery she underwent? Is Kate at risk of dying?

Public attention has followed the Princess of Wales from the moment her steps met those of William, the future king of the English throne. Logical. The royal family builds its myth by feeding the public with news, gossip, and information.

It was therefore expected that the serious health problem faced by Kate Middleton, especially the fact that the palace is providing information about it in detail, would cause hysteria.

To reassure the public, the princess released a photo with her children.

But she achieved exactly the opposite, as it turned out that the controversial photo had been edited, causing many international agencies to withdraw it and her to apologize, taking responsibility.

She said that like many amateur photographers, she experimented with image editing, implying that she did not intend to deceive anyone.

Every day, millions of photos are published. Many of those posted on social networks are manipulated. Wrinkles are erased, clothes are improved, backgrounds are changed.

Unnecessary details disappear and features are emphasized, so the final result resembles magazine illustration pages. Life enhancement, in other words, through filters and with the help of Photoshop.

Everything must be perfect. The perfect outfit, the perfect smile, the perfect mood, the perfect children, the perfect partner, the perfect father, the perfect mother.

The perfect work environment, the perfect vacation, the perfect company. The perfect food, the perfect music, the perfect entertainment, the perfect gym, the perfect relaxation.

As imperfect as real life is, so perfect is the digital one. And this applies not only to celebrities but to each of us, who with basic image editing tools can at least photographically have the life we want.

To erase anything that bothers us. To change anything we don’t like. To turn into someone else, into something we are not.

The problem, of course, is not the illusions that are created. It is that we end up considering these illusions as true.

We know they are filters and manipulated images, yet this does not prevent us from taking them seriously.

With incredibly huge psychological costs. Either because we don’t have the life we want, or because we fall into the trap and envy the fake lives that others project on social networks.
