A 73 year old woman who sustained critical head injuries after being beaten up in her Limassol home last January has died in hospital. He son is under arrest for the assault.
The son, 42, is reported to have previously been treated for mental illness. He is expected to stand trial for manslaughter.
He was arrested on the basis of testimony from his uncle who said that he had heard cries and saw his nephew hitting the 73 year old woman.
