Roads to Troodos are now open for cars with four wheel drive or which are equipped with snow chains, police have announced.
The same applies to a number of other mountains roads because of snow or ice.
The restrictions apply to the following roads:
– Kakopetria- Pinewood-Pedoulas
– Pedoulas-Kykkos
– Pedoulas-Prodromos
– Prodromos-Platres
– Prodromos-Lemythou
-Prodromos -Troodos
– Karvounas-Troodos
– Platres-Troodos
A cold air mass is affect the area, with below average temperatures today and even lower temperatures forecast for Sunday and Monday.
Drivers in the mountains are urged to be particularly careful, to drive slowly, keep a safe distance from other cars and give way to other vehicles where necessary.
Police said that road conditions in the mountains are changeable because of the weather and the public is urged to stay up to date from the police app or on its web
