Coronavirus: Emergency contacts for Cypriots stranded abroad

Relevant News

The Foreign Ministry reminded on Monday that in case of an emergency, Cypriot citizens abroad and/or their family can contact the national crisis management centre on the number (+357) 22801000 that is open 24/7.

Meanwhile, many Cypriots are stranded in the UK as they are unable to obtain the health certificate requested by the Health Ministry as the British health authorities do not conduct checks if individuals do not present Coronavirus symptoms, the CNA reports.

The High Commission of Cyprus in the UK has urged Cypriots stranded in the UK in an emergency to contact them directly via Facebook or Twitter, electronically by filling in the form found on the website www.cyprusinuk.com and via the email [email protected].

Alternatively, the public can contact Consular Affairs at the foreign ministry: +357 22651113 (08:30-15:00, Monday-Friday) and ‬+357 99660129 outside office hours.

Cyprus nationals in the UK in a state of emergency can reach out to the Consul General Theodoros Gotsis via Messenger or by a private message on Twitter at @TheodorosGotsis.

The Cypriot consular services in the UK told CNA that they will prioritise finding accommodation to visitors to the UK from Cyprus who have nowhere to stay. Second on the list of priorities are Cypriots who can stay temporarily with friends or family who live in the UK.
