Long-delayed construction works at Byron Avenue in the heart of Nicosia will be completed by late February-early March the latest, Phileleftheros reports.
The delay is attributed to the unprecedented heavy rainfall of last winter, according to Nicosia Municipality sources.
The contractor is now getting ready for road lining works and pavement construction is expected to follow, one also said.
Byron Avenue redevelopment project contracts were signed on December 27, 2017 at the cost of €5.1 million plus VAT.
In addition to the redevelopment, the project also includes an underground car park that will cover part of the avenue from its junction at Anastasios G. Leventis Avenue (formerly Leonidou) up to Evagorou Avenue.
