Sunny over 20s but dust remains, showers tomorrow

A high pressure system is affecting Cyprus, as temperatures will remain well over the seasonal average over the next three days, with persisting dust however, albeit at lower levels, calling for extra care during outdoor activities.

Mostly fine skies today turning partly overcast in the early afternoon. Winds will initially be light variable, force three, later turning light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly, force three to four over calm to slight seas. Temperatures will rise to 22 degrees Celsius inland, 21 in coastal regions and 12 on the mountains.

Clear this evening, with the possibility of increasingly low cloud at intervals. Thin mist is expected to form mainly inland and in eastern coastal regions. Winds will be light northwesterly to northeasterly force three, over calm to slight seas. Temperatures will drop around 9 degrees Celsius inland and in coastal regions and 4 on the highest reaches of the Troodos mountains.

Overcast skies will likely give isolated showers tomorrow in some areas, with a similar outlook forecast on Tuesday, as rain is expected early afternoon, mostly over the mountains. Wednesday will see a return to clear skies.

African dust will continue to affect the island over the next three days.

A slight drop in temperatures tomorrow, but remaining well over the seasonal average, taking us right through to at least mid week.
