Councillor suspects political motives behind damage to vehicle

Relevant News

The municipal councillor of Dromolaxia, Savvas Kyriakou, sees political motives behind the malicious damage to his vehicle, as he reported to the Police.

The incident was reported at the Kiti Police Station on Easter Monday afternoon. The car of the DISY municipal councillor was parked in the parking area of the local stadium where Easter games were organized.

Unknown individuals smashed the window of his vehicle, as well as that of another car parked nearby.

Speaking to philenews, Kyriakou stated that the target was two cars of the same brand. “They didn’t do it to steal because my wife’s handbag and other personal items were inside, which they didn’t take.”

Indicating that he has no differences with anyone, he claimed that some want to silence him.

“There are witnesses to the incident and a report has been made to the Police. I’m saddened by the fact, I am a candidate for municipal councilor for the third time, and this is the first time something like this has happened.

Some want to silence me so I don’t express myself publicly. We have the democratic right to express ourselves. My family and I are under threat.”

The Police have initiated investigations into the incident in an attempt to locate the perpetrators.
