Relevant News

The investigators of the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department are probing a case of theft and arson involving a car.

According to the Police, last night, a sedan belonging to a 31-year-old woman from Paralimni was stolen outside a kiosk in Paralimni.

At the time of the theft, the vehicle was being driven by the husband of the 31-year-old, who parked the mentioned vehicle at the kiosk without locking it and left the keys inside.

Shortly afterward, information was received that there was a fire in a vehicle despite the Liopetri overpass.

Members of the Famagusta CID visited the two scenes and found that the burning vehicle was the one belonging to the 31-year-old.

Examinations conducted in the area of the car theft revealed visual footage from a closed-circuit television system capturing two individuals on motorcycles of unknown identity.

These individuals, wearing full-face protective helmets, approached the car.

The passenger dismounted from the motorcycle, boarded the vehicle, and then drove it, followed by the motorcycle rider.

The fire in the car was extinguished by the Fire Service of Famagusta, and further investigations were ruled out until daylight.

The Famagusta CID continues the investigation.
