After the 24-year-old, the Police located and arrested the 25-year-old husband on Wednesday night, who was wanted for the burglary of an office space within the precinct of the church of Agia Paraskevi in the central square of the Municipality of Yeroskipou.

The 25-year-old is alleged to have confessed during questioning after his arrest to committing the burglary and theft last Saturday, also stating that the stolen amount was not 5000 euros as initially reported, but 9000 euros.

The burglary of the auxiliary building of the renowned religious monument, which is listed by the Antiquities Department, occurred on February 3rd.

The responsible priest of the church of Agia Paraskevi reported to the Police that the church office, located next to the church, was burglarized, and a sum of money and various religious items were stolen from it.

Members of the Paphos CID visited the scene, and from the examinations, it was found that the entry and exit of the perpetrators were achieved through a wooden window of the office, which was breached with a sharp object, while external protective bars were also severed.

Various pieces of evidence were collected from the scene for forensic examination.

The Police secured testimony on Tuesday that a person is involved in the case.

An arrest and search warrant was issued against him by the Paphos District Court for the premises where he resides.

Members of the force searched the premises in the presence of the wife of the wanted person and found inside the house and seized as evidence a sum of 4705 euros as well as gold-colored cufflinks and two copper-colored rings.

The wife of the wanted person was arrested, and during questioning, she made some claims that are under investigation.

Yesterday she was brought before the Paphos District Court for the issuance of a detention order, however, the court announced that it would announce its decision at 1:00 p.m. today.

The 24-year-old remains in custody, while today she will be brought to court for the issuance of her detention order, along with her husband.
