The Municipality of Nicosia organised a co-creation workshop as part of the European project AI4PP – Artificial Intelligence for Public Policy.
The project aims to use artificial intelligence to promote digital transformation and develop new methodologies in shaping policies.
A statement from the Nicosia Municipality indicates that the workshop focused on the municipality’s pilot programme titled “Holistic and Accessible Urban Mobility.”
The goal was to evaluate the functionality of the prototype tools based on the Virtualized Policy Management Environment (VPME) platform, as well as to present pilot solutions and artificial intelligence models primarily targeting the elderly and people with disabilities.
During the workshop, a final review of the technical and business parameters of the project was conducted, and the prospects for the development of the software created were extensively discussed.
The AI4PublicPolicy project has developed tools and solutions based on artificial intelligence for modelling, extraction, simulation, and policy recommendation in a transparent and reliable environment.
It is noted that the project is a joint effort of 16 partners, including technology and expertise providers from large companies and SMEs, a national university, and local public authorities.
It is funded under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme and represents an effort to leverage the capabilities of artificial intelligence for the automation, transparency, and scalability of policy management, with a focus on the citizen.
