Authorities attribute a car fire that broke out in a vehicle owned by a resident of Paphos to a malicious act in the early morning hours today.

The fire in the car erupted while it was parked outside the owner’s residence in the Apostolos Pavlos neighbourhood in the centre of Paphos.

Bystanders noticed the incident and promptly alerted the police and members of the Fire Department. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, extinguishing the fire that caused extensive damage to the vehicle.

The area was cordoned off for further examination, and in the daylight, evidence indicating a malicious act was discovered.

The vehicle owner provided a statement to the police, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances and potential motives behind the deliberate act.

Authorities are working to bring clarity to the incident and identify those responsible for the intentional damage.
