A 25-year-old man from Limassol was arrested yesterday afternoon for driving under the influence of narcotics and possession of cannabis.
Officers from the Avdimou Police spotted the man’s vehicle on the Limassol-Paphos motorway at the Episkopi exit.
The vehicle lacked a valid license plate and roadworthiness certificate. When officers signalled for the driver to pull over, he discarded two small bags from his car window before stopping.
Police apprehended the driver and retrieved the bags, which contained cannabis. A subsequent drug test confirmed the presence of cocaine in the man’s system.
During questioning, the 25-year-old admitted to the offences.
He was charged and released with a summons to appear in court at a later date.
