A Limassol Bicycle Police officer was injured on Monday after being struck by a vehicle during a routine traffic stop, local police said.
The officer signalled a car to stop on Thrakis Street after discovering it lacked the required documentation, according to initial reports.
The driver, however, attempted to flee the scene, hitting the officer in the process.
An ambulance transported the officer to the hospital for treatment of minor scratches.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested by police.
Local authorities are continuing their investigation.
