Relevant News

“When summoned to the ecclesiastical court, we will appear and defend them,” state the lawyers of the two currently detained monks of the Monastery of Saint Habakkuk.

As they state in their announcement, “We have repeatedly emphasised and reiterate for the last time that our clients, despite disagreeing with the irregular manner in which the entire process in the ecclesiastical court is conducted, nonetheless respect the institution and will attend all stages of ecclesiastical justice.”

The announcement in full:

“Because our statements from yesterday were misinterpreted and distorted, we clarify that both myself and my colleague, who are entrusted with the ecclesiastical aspect, have repeatedly emphasised and reiterate for the last time that our clients, despite disagreeing with the irregular manner in which the entire process in the ecclesiastical court is conducted, nonetheless respect the institution and will attend all stages of ecclesiastical justice. That is to say, when summoned to the ecclesiastical court, we will appear and defend them.”
