As observed in today’s meeting on economic developments due to the escalation of the crisis in the broader Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean region at the Ministry of Finance, there do not appear to be any risks for the Cypriot economy.

In light of developments in the wider Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean region, the Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, convened an emergency inter-ministerial meeting at the Ministry of Finance this morning to review the developments and any potential impacts on the economy.

During the meeting, all factors that could directly affect the economy were examined, as well as sectors that might experience greater impacts from a possible escalation of the crisis.

Opinions were exchanged regarding the planning and preventive actions that the Ministry of Finance could undertake if necessary.

As noted in the meeting, there are currently no apparent risks for the Cypriot economy.

The Ministry of Finance will closely monitor developments and is prepared, if necessary, to take the required actions and measures.
