The issue of the Auditor General was described purely as legal, not political, by the Deputy Government Spokesperson, Yiannis Antoniou.
Speaking on state radio, he reiterated that the President of the Republic has no intention of initiating any procedures to dismiss the Auditor General.
However, he pointed out that this does not mean that President Christodoulides will instruct the Attorney General on what to do.
He also stressed that the occasional statements made by the President of the Republic should neither be used as an alibi nor as an accusation.
At the same time, Antoniou indicated that the aim is for state services to operate normally, so that everyone can be useful and productive.
