Police investigators are currently holding a meeting at the Nicosia Crime Investigation Department (CID) headquarters to discuss the attempted murder of a 34-year-old man that occurred today at 12:30 PM on a busy avenue in Anthoupoli.
The meeting is attended by members of the Police leadership, Nicosia CID investigators, and the Crime Investigation Service, where the evidence gathered so far is being examined.
According to philenews, the investigators have obtained testimony from an eyewitness who happened to be passing by the scene of the attempt at the time and even offered first aid to the victim.
The authorities have identified the specific type of motorcycle the perpetrators were riding, and closed-circuit footage from the area is being examined to determine whether the perpetrators were following the victim’s motorcycle before the attempt.
As the Police announced earlier, the victim was shot multiple times by unknown persons.
According to our information, the perpetrators were riding a scooter and were wearing helmets.
The 34-year-old man, who is known to the authorities, was shot once in the neck, and it appears that the would-be killer fired three or more shots in total.
