The countries of Central Europe and the Baltic states have become significant players in the tourism industry of Paphos, as evidenced by the daily flights to and from Paphos Airport from countries such as Germany, Poland, Austria, Estonia, and Lithuania.
For this reason, Paphos aims, alongside maintaining its dominance in the preference of British tourists, to open up widely to the countries of Central and Northern Europe for further strengthening its position in these markets in the summer of 2024.
According to the relevant authorities of the province, these prospects are now particularly favourable, given that the air connectivity of Paphos is even more enhanced this year towards Central Europe and the Baltic, indicating that the infrastructure for Paphos to target this goal already exists.
To bolster the increasing interest from this specific European region towards Paphos, the Paphos Regional Tourism Development and Promotion Company and PASYXE Paphos are already taking action, with representatives having visited countries in these areas to participate in promotional activities.
As indicated by statistical data, these markets have recorded satisfactory increases in recent years, with the highest percentage being individual visitors.
The entire effort of participation in exhibitions and workshops, hosting of travel agents, public relations activities, and other promotional actions are part of a broader framework of joint efforts by stakeholders and entrepreneurs of Paphos, the Ministry of Tourism, and others for the recovery of tourism and attracting visitors throughout the year.
