There has been a significant increase in air traffic at Paphos Airport since mid-March, with officials from the managing company of Cypriot airports noting that this increase will be much larger from this month onwards, anticipating a summer with significant flight activity for Paphos.
The rise in traffic follows the satisfactory winter activity of the Republic’s second airport, during which a total of 115 flights per week landed in Paphos from 40 airports across various European cities.
This continues the enormous growth that Paphos Airport has experienced over the last three years.
The flagship of the ongoing increased flight schedule from Paphos continues to be the economic giant of flights, Ryanair. Since early March, Ryanair has bolstered its program to and from Paphos with flights from airports in Poland, Austria, France, the United Kingdom, and Baltic countries.
Moreover, daily flights to and from Athens will also be introduced soon.
Local authorities highlight that it is particularly encouraging that Paphos remains connected year-round with major airports in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Poland, and other European countries.
There is also a need for further strengthening of flights from airports in Germany and Scandinavian countries.
The continuous increase in connectivity is of great strategic importance for Paphos and Cyprus as a whole, according to officials from the Paphos region.
The enhanced programs are expected to provide a significant boost to the economy and further development of various tourism sectors with the aim of fully reviving the industry.
