Police searched the homes of a mother and daughter in Limassol on Wednesday evening where they discovered some €300,00 in cash and will now investigate whether it is the result of illegal activities.
Police first searched the home of a 51-year old woman where they found €17,000 and later searched the home of her mother, where they found another €283,600 in a safe.
The money was confiscated as police investigate its provenance. Sources said the two women are the mother and sister of a person known to the authorities.
