The Cyprus Theatre Organization (THOC) has announced auditions for the production of the play “What If I’m Fat?” written by Zoe Apostolides.

To complete the cast for this production, THOC is calling for auditions from able-bodied male professional actors, drama school graduates, aged 15 and above.

The play, with the English title “FAT,” was written and is presented as part of the European program Young Europe IV of the ETC, with the aim of promoting marginalised voices.

It will be directed by Elena Socratous and deals with the issue of body image and fat-phobia, focusing on a 15-year-old boy.

Interested actors should send their CV along with a recent photo electronically to [email protected] by Friday, December 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM, with the subject line of the email being “Ακρόαση | ΚΙ ΑΝ ΕΙΜΑΙ ΧΟΝΤΡΟΣ;” ” (Audition | What If I’m Fat?). The selection of actors to participate in the audition will be made by the director based on their CVs.

Auditions will take place at the THOC Building on Monday, December 18, 2023. Actors invited to the audition will be asked to prepare excerpts from the play (a dialogue excerpt and a poetry slam piece, which will be provided to them).

All actors will be notified exclusively via email regarding their participation in the audition.

Anticipated employment period: January – April 2024.
