Relevant News

The resounding success of the Museum of the Moon’s installation in Larnaca, drawing thousands from across Cyprus, prompts a return of the lunar exhibit to Zouhouri Square.

Upon public request and due to overwhelming attendance, the Municipality of Larnaca announced that the Museum of the Moon, a captivating work of art, will grace Zouhouri Square for an additional three days.

The exhibit will be open from Tuesday, November 21, to Thursday, November 23, 2023.

Through collaborative efforts of Larnaca Municipal Council members, Once In a Blue Moon, and WonderDots, the extension allows more people to experience the unique art installation.

The Museum of the Moon, created by British artist Luke Jerram, spans seven meters in diameter, featuring high-resolution images (120dpi) sourced from NASA’s Scientific Center.

At a scale of approximately 1:500,000, each centimeter of the illuminated spherical display represents 5 kilometers of the moon’s surface.

Entrance is free for all visitors.

The installation, known for its intricate experience, is accompanied by an audio/musical backdrop composed by the award-winning BAFTA and Ivor Novello laureate, Dan Jones.

Since its creation in 2016, the installation has travelled globally, captivating audiences in both indoor and outdoor settings.
