The Limassol marathon will take place on this weekend, March 23-24.
Saturday
On Saturday the child and the company marathons will take place, starting at 9 am from the western end of Molos Park.
Runners will follow the route from 28 October street towards the traffic light junction with Griva Digenis. Both lanes will be used for the marathon.
The route will be closed to traffic from 8 am on Saturday until 12 pm.
Sunday
On Sunday, the OPAP Limassol Marathon will start at 7:30 am, with over 10,000 people expected to participate.
The whole coastal front will be closed to traffic from 6 am to 2 pm.
Runners will start from the western end of Molos Park and will head towards the coastal road to Franklin Roosevelt street from the New Port roundabout.
Then, they will head towards the Lady’s Mile roundabout and the parallel road in front of My Mall, to reach Franklin Roosevelt street.
They will then head westwards towards Asomatos village until the Water Park entrance.
From there, they will head back to the traffic light junction on Amathountos avenue with Ayioi Saranta street near Elias hotel and will finish at the western end of Molos Park.
The road will be gradually opened depending on the runners’ progress.
