Weak low pressure is beginning to affect the area bringing rain and the possibility of thunderstorms.
Tuesday will start off mainly cloudy with local light showers and scattered rain or possible thunderstorms in the afternoon. There will be snowfall at intervals in the higher Troodos peaks.
Temperatures will rise to 16 C inland and on the coast and 8 C in the higher mountains.
Tonight will be partly cloudy and initially scattered showers and/or thunderstorms are forecast while there will be snow in the mountains, however the phenomena will soon dissipate.
Wednesday and Thursday will be partly cloudy with scattered showers at intervals while on Thursday thunderstorms are also possible. Snow or sleet is expected in the higher Troodos peaks.
Friday will be partly cloudy with local rain, isolated thunderstorms and snow in the mountains.
Temperatures will edge up a little on Wednesday and Thursday to a little above the seasonal average but will drop on Friday.
The depth of snow at Troodos Square at the time of issue of the early morning weather bulletin was 75 cm.
Roads
All roads are open but the Pedoulas-Prodromos, Kakopetria-Karvounas and Pedoulas-Pinewood-Kakopetria roads area slippery because of ice and drivers are urged to be particularly careful.
