Two new Covid-19 cases, none at schools

Two people have tested positive for coronavirus after 2248 diagnostic tests on Sunday raising the total number of cases in Cyprus to 916.

Both are from private initiative. There were no positive cases from nearly 500 tests at schools and more than 1000 among retail and construction workers.

According to a written announcement from the Health Ministry, today’s results are:

None through tracing of the contacts of positive cases (114 tests today)

None from public hospital labs (116 tests today)

Two from private initiative (206 tests today)

None from special health groups (106 tests today)

None from repatriations (107 tests today)

None from testing of workers in retail and construction sites (1102 tests today)

None from pupils and teachers (497 tests today)

At 3 pm on Sunday, there were four patients at Famagusta Hospital, one in the increased care unit.

There are three intubated patients in ICUs, all at Nicosia Hospital. Their condition is described as critical but stable.

In addition, there is one confirmed Covid-19 case in hospital wards other than Famagusta Hospital
